DOCTOR WHO – Triple Book Signing!

Posted by admin  Published in Author Book Events, Books, Doctor Who, sci fi, Signed Books

Just in from the Forbidden Planet (UK) newsletter:

Three DOCTOR WHO authors will be signing copies of each of their new Doctor Who books in the Forbidden Planet London Megastore Saturday Jan 12th.

Trevor Baxendale – WISHING WELL
The wishing well is a tourist attraction which supposedly has lost treasure buried at the bottom. But there is something far more sinister waiting in the well for anyone who goes looking for the treasure. The Doctor tries to warn them but no one listens. They’ll soon be wishing they had.

Simon Guerrier – THE PIRATE LOOP
What happened to the Starship Brilliant? That’s the one question the Doctor can’t answer but Martha is intrigued and persuades him to land the TARDIS on the ship a few days before it vanished. The Doctor finds out the terrible truth and comes face to face with badger-faced space pirates.

James Swallow – PEACEMAKER
In the town of Redwater, in the American West of the 1880′s the peace is shattered by two figures that have come searching for ‘the healer’. They have guns that shoot bolts of energy instead of bullets. The Doctor and Martha are about to find out just how wild the West can be!

They’re also taking pre-orders for the signed books. (For those of us who can’t afford the plane fare!)

Autographed Books – Get Your Books Signed

Posted by admin  Published in Author Book Events, Autographs, Signed Books

Autographed books – one of the most sought-after types collectors look for and yet sometimes the hardest things to find. However, you can increase the odds of getting your books signed or being able to buy a autographed copy if you know where to look.

One great site I’ve found is Authors Track. They publish a list of authors and the dates they will be at various places in the US for book signings and interviews and they have it organized by state and also by popular authors who are currently ‘traveling’, such as Nora Roberts, Stephen R Donaldson, Terry Brooks, Lemony Snicket, Sue Grafton, Sara Paretsky and more. They even give you directions and provide info on whether it will be a public or private signing and if additional copies will be available for sale afterwards (for people who can’t make it to the event – not everyone lives near big metro areas that are so popular with author signing events, eh?)

So if you want to get your existing books signed or are looking for a copy of a brand new book title that’s just been autographed at one of these events, this is one of the best places to start your signed books search.

(And don’t forget – you can also find signed copies of your favorite books, new and old and hard-to-find, on eBay if you don’t see what you’re looking for at Authors Track… =)
