NW Voices Presents Sci Fi Author Greg Bear

Greg Bear comes to Longview, Washington with his most recent book, CITY AT THE END OF TIME.  Two events are offered on Tuesday, October 21st.  Attend a Workshop at LCC in the Admissions Center Room 143 from 2 – 3:30 p.m., or attend a Reading in the evening at the Longview Public Library in the Auditorium at 7 p.m.  The subject of the workshop is “Where you get your ideas and how to know when one is ready to become a story.”

THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS, British author Kenneth Grahame’s riverbank tale of Toad, Mole, Ratty and Badger, was published on October 8, 1908 to mild success.  However, once President Teddy Roosevelt gave it his hearty approval, it took off on both sides of the pond and has been a staple of every children’s classics library since.

To celebrate the book’s 100th Anniversary, the Bank of England Museum is displaying Kenneth Grahame’s letter of resignation along with other correspondence of his.

For anyone living in and around Mobile, Alabama, Nicholas Sparks will be at the Saenger Theatre, 6 S. Joachim St, on October 9th from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m to promote and sign his newest book,  THE LUCKY ONE.  The event is being presented by Page & Palette Bookstore of Fairhope.

VIP tickets for the event are $25 for seating in the first six rows, and general admission tickets are $15. With each ticket purchased, a $5 credit will go toward the purchase of THE LUCKY ONE from Page & Palette. (Books will be available for purchase at the bookstore and at the event.)
